According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp personally attended a hearing to secure a work permit for Liverpool signing Marko Grujic.

Grujic became Klopp’s first signing of his Anfield reign back in January when they secured a £5.1 million move from Red Star Belgrade in January.

He was loaned back to Serbian giants for the remainder of the season though before moving to Merseyside this summer.

Before he could do so though, he had to obtain a work permit, which was finally granted in a hearing on Monday afternoon.

And according to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp personally attended that hearing in Manchester to argue the youngster’s case to a three-man panel.

They claim he told them of how highly he rates the youngster, and outlined how important he will be for the side next season and in future.

The midfielder is now free to link up with the Liverpool squad and feature in their pre-season training ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Klopp is a big fan of the 20-year-old, with the Mirror claiming that he personally phoned Grujic back in January to persuade him to turn down offers from the likes of Juventus and Chelsea, as well as several other sides.

The youngster will now be keen to show that faith was well placed and try to earn a first team role under the German next season.
