The Everton defender is being linked with a £50 million move to Manchester City.
The Everton defender is once again being linked with a big money move from Goodison Park in the transfer window.
Manchester City seem the most keen as Pep Guardiola looks to mould the squad that he inherited from Manuel Pellegrini.
The defence is an area of the team that needs particular attention, with the likes of Nichols Otamendi, Eliaquim Mangala and Martin Demichelis all struggling to impress last season.
The former Barcelona boss has reportedly identified Stones as the perfect addition and is willing to pay big money for him this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton are demanding £50 million for their man, a price that would make him Britain’s most expensive defender.
It is unknown if City are willing to go that far in the bidding, but if they do it would come as good news to Stones’ former club Barnsley.
They will pocket 15% of any future transfer fee and could end up earning £7.5 million if City do make a £50 million move for the Everton star in due course.
