Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers will be in competition with Celtic to win the Scottish Premiership next season.
Paul Lambert has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 4th July, that he feels that Celtic are still the favourites to win the Scottish Premiership, ahead of Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers this season.
Rangers have made eight additions already this summer, as they aim to challenge Celtic in the race for the title.
However, Lambert feels that Celtic will have too much for their Glasgow rivals - despite the impressive job Mark Warburton has done at Ibrox.
"I think when push comes to shove they [Hearts] won’t be up there against the big two," the former Aston Villa manager said.
"I think Celtic are the favourites to win it. Brendan going in there will take a little bit of time to get his mark on it. Mark has done well at Rangers. The title will come down to those two, but Celtic will be the favourites to win it."
Celtic have won the last five Premiership titles, and they have dominated Scottish football without Rangers in the top flight.
Rangers will be expected to push them close this campaign, however, with their transfer business catching the eye.
Celtic, themselves, have responded to the pressure being put on them by their local rivals by showing ambition.
Celtic have appointed Brendan Rodgers as their new manager, and the addition of Fulham’s Moussa Dembele was highly impressive.
At the moment Celtic are the bookies’ favourites to win the Scottish Premiership title, with Rangers considered outsiders.
