Former Manchester City and Derby County striker Franny Lee has suggested on social networking site Twitter that West Ham United’s Dimitri Payet is a better player than Paul Pogba of Juventus.

Payet and Pogba are France international teammates and are currently on duty at the 2016 European Championship.

The midfield duo featured in France’s 5-2 victory over Iceland at Stade de France in Saint-Denis on Sunday evening and scored a goal each.

Former England international striker Lee was following the match, and he was impressed with Payet’s performance but not of Pogba’s.

Against Iceland, West Ham attacking midfielder Payet took three shots, had a pass accuracy of 88%, created one chance, put in three crosses and attempted four dribbles.

Juventus midfielder Pogba took three shots, had a pass accuracy of 94%, attempted one dribble, and made interceptions and one clearance.

According to a report in The Daily Mail earlier this month, Manchester United are interested in signing Pogba from Juventus in the summer transfer window.

It was reported that Premier League giants United are ready to offer as much as £100 million to secure the services of the 23-year-old midfielder.
