Brendan Rodgers has told Celtic’s official site that Moussa Dembele will make his debut for the Glasgow club on Wednesday evening.

The 19-year-old had attracted the attentions of a number of clubs, after impressing for Fulham last season, but he opted to move to Celtic.

Dembele was kept on the substitutes’ bench throughout Celtic’s friendly against Sturm Graz last night, which they won 1-0, but his first appearance is not far away.

“He will feature on Wednesday night,” Rodgers said. “He’s only just with us and you need to give them seven to 10 days before you get them on the field or else you have a high risk of injury so he’s a guy that will come in and play some part on Wednesday.”

Celtic take on Olimpija Ljubljana on Wednesday evening, in the Slovenian capital.

The Bhoys will be looking to keep up their unbeaten record, after picking up a draw in a win in their first two games of pre-season.

Celtic’s match against Olimpija Ljubljana is their penultimate game during their tour of Slovenia.

Once the Bhoys return to Glasgow, their focus will turn to their first competitive match of the season - which comes in the Champions League qualification stages.
