Murray has great experience of the Championship, helping Brighton’s rivals Crystal Palace to promotion in the 2012-13 campaign by netting an impressive 30 league goals in 42 appearances.
The strong centre-forward then helped the Eagles establish themselves in the top-flight before joining the Cherries 12 months ago, participating in the club’s successful debut season in the Premier League.
Despite dropping back in to the Championship for the next 12 months, Murray has taken to social media site Twitter in order to share his delight at joining a club he evidently still holds close to his heart.
Brighton narrowly missed out on promotion last season, finishing behind second place Middlesbrough on goal difference before losing to Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship payoff semi-finals.
Chris Hughton’s side will want to go one better this season, and in Murray they have top quality player who will help get the best out of the likes of Anthony Knockaert, Tomer Hemed and Solly March.
The Seagulls will be among the favourites for promotion alongside Newcastle United, Norwich City, Aston Villa, Derby County and last season’s playoff finalists Sheffield Wednesday.
