Vincent Janssen's agent has told Dutch reporters that current club AZ Alkmaar have banned the striker from a planned television appearance.

The Tottenham Hotspur transfer target expressed his frustration at the Dutch side last week in an interview with AD Sportwereld, lamenting their high asking price blocking his move to the Premier League.

Now the Eredivisie club have moved to dismiss any repeats of Janssen's comments, by ensuring a pre-planned appearance on Dutch Euro 2016 show Studio France with Henry Schut on public broadcaster NOS did not go ahead, report the channel.

Janssen's agent told NOS' website: "The club prohibits Vincent his performance on the NOS for all transfer troubles surrounding his person."

This is the latest instance of the relationship between Janssen and his employers turning sour, with the striker publicly stating he wanted a move to Tottenham and would consider it a 'blow' if it does not happen.

The 21-year-old was the Eredivisie's top goalscorer last season and has established himself as the Netherlands' national side's first choice.

Tottenham have made bids for Janssen but are yet to meet AZ Alkmaar's asking price, which is believed to be under £20 million.

The club played their first pre-seaosn friendly at the weekend but Janssen did not feature, although he has returned to training.
