Everton are interested in signing Juan Mata from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph.

It has been reported that Everton are trying to convince Mata to move to Goodison Park this summer.

According to the report, the Spain international attacking midfielder is aware that he has no future at United, who will have former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho in charge of the first team next season.

“The offer is currently round £20 million but there is competition for his signature and the picture is not yet clear,” adds the report in The Telegraph.

Mata and Mourinho worked together at Chelsea before the Portuguese boss decided to sell the Spaniard to the Red Devils in January 2014.

The 28-year-old worked with Koeman at Spanish club Valencia back in the 2007-08 season.

Earlier this summer, Spanish publication El Confidencial credited London outfit West Ham United with an interest in the 2012 FA Cup and Champions League winner with Chelsea.
