Glasgow Rangers new boy Josh Windass has told the Daily Record that it is strange to be in the same team as Niko Kranjcar and Joey Barton at Ibrox.

Kranjcar and Barton were two of Rangers’ summer signings, alongside Windass.

Kranjcar and Barton were both high profile additions for Rangers, while Windass is currently at the opposite end of his career.

Windass is trying to make a name for himself, after impressing for Accrington Stanley last season.

And the young striker said: “It is surreal I am now in a team with players like Joey Barton and Niko Krancjar. I watched them for years in the Premier League so it is weird to be training with them.”

Windass has been training with Rangers for just over a week now, with Mark Warburton’s side currently on a tour of America.

Windass was one of of the best players in the Football League last term, and he is expected to have a key role to play at Rangers next season.

Rangers will be back in the Scottish Premiership for the 2016/17 campaign, and Mark Warburton has been keen to add depth to his Light Blues’ squad.

Rangers have already made eight additions this summer, and even more new signings are set to be brought to Ibrox in the coming weeks.
