The new era at Celtic has begun and hot on the heels of the first friendly match of Brendan Rodgers’ reign comes this weekend’s clash against Sturm Graz.

The Bhoys drew 2-2 with Celje last time out courtesy of goals from Nadir Ciftci and Tom Rogic and Rodgers will be hoping for a better all-round performance this afternoon after seeing his side initially go two goals down in their return to action after the summer break.

Big things are expected at Celtic next season with Rodgers’ arrival exciting many, while the return of Rangers to the top flight adds some much needed spice to proceedings.

Before that, however, Celtic will be fully focused on getting match fit in the build up to their Champions League qualifying matches that could ultimately make or break Rodgers’ first season at the helm.

After this game, Celtic’s players have three days to rest ahead of a clash with Olimpija before they end their pre-season preparations with a game against Maribor.
