Former Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has taken to social networking site Twitter to praise the quality of Manchester United’s latest signings including Hendrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Armenia international is said to have completed a move to Old Trafford, confirmed by his former club Borussia Dortmund’s official website.
Mkhitaryan moves to United a day after the confirmation of Zlatan Ibrahimovic joining on a free transfer following his decision to leave French champions Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his contract.
Taking to social media site Twitter to comment on the latest transfer news around Old Trafford, Schmeichel feels the additions made have been top quality as he praises the influence of boss Jose Mourinho.
Jose is rocking, players signed so far @ManUtd are top quality. Welcome Henrikh Mkhitatyan— Peter Schmeichel (@Pschmeichel1) July 2, 2016
When Mourinho was confirmed as the club’s new manager after months of speculation, a number of supporters must have been wondering what type of players will be targeted this month.
Despite his age, 34-year-old Ibrahimovic is still a top striker who netted 50 goals in all competitions for PSG last term and the arrival of Mkhitaryan will only further bolster Mourinho’s new side’s attacking threat.
The 27-year-old plays largely as a central attacking midfielder though he is capable of featuring in other areas in the final third. Last season he posted 11 goals and 15 assists in 28 Bundesliga starts.
