Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has taken to social networking site Twitter to make a joke about Manchester City defender Jason Denayer.

Denayer was in action for Belgium against Wales in the quarter-finals of the 2016 European Championship in France on Friday evening.

Marc Wilmots’s side were favourites to win the European Championship quarter-final tie, but it was the Dragons who emerged victorious.

Hal Robson-Kanu scored the best goal of the match and arguably the best of the tournament 10 minutes into the second half.

Robson-Kanu left no fewer than three opponents stunned, as he executed a brilliant turn inside the Belgium penalty box and slotted home calmly.

Denayer was one of the Belgium players who was caught off-guard by the Wales attacker’s moment of genius.

Griffiths played with Denayer at Celtic during the 2014-15 season when the centre-back was on loan at the Hoops from Premier League giants City.

The 25-year-old Scotland international striker has made a joke about the 21-year-old defender’s failure to do anything to stop Robson-Kanu’s goal.
