Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas has told Canal+ (as reported by Sky Sports) that Alexandre Lacazette will not leave in the summer transfer window.

Lacazette is one of the best forwards in Europe at the moment and has been linked with moves away from Lyon this summer.

According to Sky Sports, West Ham United are interested in signing the France international in the summer transfer window.

The Mirror claimed last month that North London outfit Arsenal want to secure the services of Lacazette this summer.

However, according to Lyon president Aulas, the French forward will remain at the club.

"We have had a few calls, but Alexandre will stay,” Aulas told French television channel Canal+, as reported by Sky Sports. “I think it is his desire and the coach counts on him.”

Lacazette scored 21 goals and created 43 chances in 34 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon last season.

The France international forward had a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 57%, and won 28 headers, 57 dribbles and 30 tackles.

Aulas’s comments will be bad news for West Ham and Arsenal, as both the Premier League clubs need to sign a proven goalscorer this summer.

While the Gunners will be aiming for the league title next season, the Hammers will be looking to finish at least in the top six.
