Quoted by the Mirror, Andros Townsend has shared his delight at completing a move to Crystal Palace.

The winger completed his switch from Newcastle United on Friday, with the Eagles paying £13 million for his services, according the Mirror.

He has signed a five-year deal at Selhurst Park, becoming their first signing of the summer transfer window.

His move brings about an end to a short stay at St James’ Park, having only joined the Magpies from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

And speaking after completing the move, he says he cannot wait to get started after being convinced the future will be a bright one at the club.

“I’m extremely delighted,” the Mirror quotes him saying.

“I had chats with the manager and chairman before I signed and I’m pleased to a part of Crystal Palace’s future. By the sounds of things it’s going to be a bright one and I can’t wait to get started.”

It now remains to be seen where Palace will fit Townsend into their current line up giving the players already in the squad.

Alan Pardew has played with two wingers during his time at the club, with Wilfried Zaha and Yannick Bolasie fulfilling those roles for him.

Townsend’s arrival though leaves him with a decision to make and it will be interesting to discover how he plans to get all three into his starting line up.
