According to German newspaper Bild, Bayern Munich are still interested in a move for Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny.

The German champions were interested in the central defender before he signed a new deal in 2014.

His contract at the Emirates is set to end next summer and so far a new deal is yet to be agreed. According to the London Evening Standard, preliminary talks have begun over an extension but nothing has been signed.

That has alerted Bayern Munich, who according to Bild are still interested in the Frenchman. They view him as a potential replacement for Mehdi Benatia who could depart the Allianz this summer.

Whether Koscielny would be interested in the move to Germany though is debatable given the talent in their squad.

They have already signed Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund and he is expected to partner Jerome Boateng in the heart of their defence.

Koscielny would face a fight to get in as a result and perhaps that could see him opt to stay at Arsenal, especially if they offer him improved terms at the Emirates.
