Townsend has left Championship side Newcastle for Premier League outfit Palace.

The England international winger joined Newcastle from North London side Tottenham Hotspur only in the January transfer window.

Townsend played well and did his best for the Magpies during the second half of the 2015-16 season, but he could not prevent Rafael Benitez’s side from getting relegated to the Championship.

The winger scored four goals and create 26 chances in 13 Premier League appearances for Newcastle in the second half of the 2015-16 campaign.

Palace did not have a great season in the Premier League in 2015-16, but Alan Pardew’s side will be aiming to push for a top-10 finish in the league in 2016-17.
