Picture: Manchester United selling shirts with Mkhitaryan on the back on official website

The Premier League side seemed to accidentally upload pictures with the star's name displayed.

Manchester United were today advertising next season's kit on their official online store bearing the name of a high profile new arrival.

But it wasn't striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it was Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan

The two players share the same agent, and the Armenian has been heavily linked with securing a big money move for a player that scored 23 goals last season, from the likes of the Guardian.

But despite suggestions the deal was close to being concluded, there was no official confirmation from either club or player.

And now it appears United have inadvertently confirmed the deal.

Unsurprisingly, the United website was struggling to deal with traffic later on in the evening, coming after a day when rumours of a move for the Sweden striker were confirmed by Ibrahimovic himself on his social media accounts.

With news of what must have been a gaffe by those uploading pictures of kits, it is entirely likely that people were also flooding to the site to see for themselves whether the photos were still available.

Either way, with Zlatan still to be officially confirmed by the United site, it could be a big few days of announcements from Old Trafford.
