New Rangers signing amazed by Ibrox support.
Burnley's Joey Barton
New Rangers signing Joey Barton says he is amazed at the sheer scale of the Rangers support and the enthusiasm the fans have for the team.
Barton commented via Twitter referencing a report on the club website which stated season ticket sales have already 'soared past' 40,000 and are on course to beat the club record of 43,000 from a decade ago.
The Gers are back in Scotland's top flight after a four year absence, and Barton, 33, is expected to play a key role for them in their upcoming campaign.
Barton is one of eight signings Rangers have made already this summer as they gear up to make a title challenge, aiming to win the league for a historic 55th time.
The midfielder has played in front of big crowds before at Newcastle United, although in recent years has been at QPR and Burnley, neither of which have stadiums which can seat 40,000, let alone cater for that many season ticket holders.
If the outspoken star is impressed now, imagine what he will feel like when Rangers host rivals Celtic and Ibrox is rocking...
