Leeds United have secured the short-term future of another exciting prospect.
The Whites have been quick to tie down their most promising talent in recent weeks and Mulhern has now followed suit after an impressive season with the club’s under-21s.
The 19-year-old is highly rated at Leeds and this summer he has the perfect chance to impress Monk during pre-season training, and while first-team chances will be hard to come by in the short term he certainly has the innate ability to take any opportunity that comes his way.
“There are a lot of young players at the club and everyone is trying to make an impression going into the new season,” Mulhern told leedsunited.com.
“I scored a few goals with the under-21s last season and hopefully I can continue that and show what I can do.”
Following the arrival of Marcus Antonsson at Leeds earlier this week, there are now four senior strikers competing for a starting spot along with Mulhern and fellow youngster Eoghan Stokes.
For now the teenager may be at the back of the queue, but anything can happen over a long Championship campaign so watch this space.
