The two Scandinavians trained alongside each other for Leeds this week.
Casper Sloth - Leeds United
Leeds United recently announced their first summer signing with the arrival of Marcus Antonsson from Kalmar in Sweden.
The Allsvenskan’s current top-scorer he comes with a reputation as being something of a goal-getter who will suit the English game well – and it is a positive signing that appears to have pleased most Leeds United fans.
Of course settling in is always a challenge in any new job, especially if you have moved from abroad.
But it looks like a Scandinavian friend has been in aid.
In the pictures of Antonsson training with Leeds United released by the club’s official Twitter account yesterday Antonsson seemed to be alongside Danish international Casper Sloth the majority of the time.
Of course many Leeds fans will have forgotten that Sloth even exists.
Signed from AGF Aarhus in August 2014 he has never truly been given a chance at the club, despite his international recognition for his country.
He did not feature at all for Leeds last season, with his last appearance coming in February 2015 against Brighton.
Hopefully he can play a role in helping the Swede settle into his new surroundings and, who knows, perhaps work his way into Garry Monk’s first-team plans this summer.
