Former Celtic hero and current Fulham youth coach Peter Grant has told the Scottish Sun that Moussa Dembele's profitable partnership with Patrick Roberts at the London club will help the French attacker settle into life at Parkhead.

Dembele became Brendan Rodgers' first signing as Bhoys boss earlier this week when he joined on a four-year deal from the London club after scoring 17 goals in 46 appearances last season.

At Parkhead he will link up with his former Cottagers teammate Roberts with whom he played for three years at Craven Cottage, where the pair broke into the first-team picture at around the same time.

During the 2014-15 season, prior to Roberts' move to Manchester City, the pair played 35 matches in all competitions between them for the Championship side and were great friends off the pitch as well as teammates on it.

Roberts expressed his delight at seeing Dembele join him in Glasgow by tweeting a thrilled welcome message to his friend on Wednesday, and Grant believes Celtic can reap the reward of that partnership next season.

The ex-Bhoys midfielder told the Scottish Sun: "Patrick and Moussa were dynamite together with the youths here. They absolutely ripped it up, forming a brilliant understanding, scoring goals and teeing each other up.

"They were also good pals. Patrick will help Moussa settle into Glasgow - and I'd be thrilled if they were to deliver for Celtic on the park."

Roberts made a hugely impressive start to life at Celtic in the latter half of last season after joining on an 18-month loan deal at the end of the January transfer window, scoring six goals in 11 Scottish Premiership appearances.

If the duo can replicate the same kind of form for the Hoops as they showed at Fulham, Celtic fans have a lot to be excited about come the start of next season.
