Celtic new boy Moussa Dembele has revealed at a press conference yesterday, that he spoke to Patrick Roberts before completing a move to Parkhead.
Dembele and Roberts were teammates at Fulham earlier in their careers, and still remain in contact.
The French forward was quick to ring Roberts to find out about Celtic before putting pen to paper, but he insists that he had already decided that a move to the Glasgow club would be good for him before the conversation.
MD: I spoke to Patrick Roberts yesterday about the club and he told me good things about it but my mind was already made up.— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) June 28, 2016
Roberts is currently on loan at Celtic from Manchester City, and he will be tasked with creating chances for Dembele next season.
Dembele has penned a four-year deal with the Bhoys and he is expected to be one of their main attacking threats next term.
Dembele was tracked by the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and PSG before agreeing to sign for Brendan Rodgers’ side (Daily Mail).
Dembele scored 15 goals for Fulham in the Championship last term, with his performances being a major reason why the London club were able to avoid the drop.
