Leeds fans react on Twitter to Antonsson arrival: Him and Wood will make a great partnership

The former Kalmar attacker could be an inspired signing for the Championship outfit, after joining on a three-year deal.

Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter after the Whites made their first summer signing and first transfer under Garry Monk by bringing Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson to the club from Kalmar.

The 25-year-old has exploded into form in the Allsvenskan over the last 18 months for the Red Brothers, and departs his home country as the season's current top scorer, having netted 10 goals in 12 games since the campaign began in April.

His move to Elland Road will see fresh blood added to a strike force that was over reliant on Chris Wood and Mirco Antenucci last season. With the Italian being released at the end of the season, Antonsson has been chosen as the man to to fire Leeds up the Championship alongside the New Zealand international.

There has in general been a positive reaction to the arrival of the Swede, who has joined Leeds on a three-year contract. He worked under assistant manager Pep Clotet while the pair were both at Halmstads, and certainly moves to Yorkshire as a player in the form of his life.
