Speaking to the club's official website, Rangers new boy Lee Hodson has revealed that he has been following the progress of Rob Kiernan and Harry Forrester with the Gers.

The 24-year-old defender joined Rangers this evening, becoming Mark Warburton's eighth summer signing in what's been a fantastic window for the Ibrox club so far.

Hodson knows defender Kiernan and midfielder Forrester from their respective spells at Watford at youth level, and again at Brentford in 2013.

And the Northern Irishman - who was at Euro 2016 with his country - says that he had been tracking the pair's progress since joining Warburton's side last summer.

“Rob [Kiernan], Harry [Forrester] and I go back a long way," Hodgson, who signed a three-year deal at Rangers, told the club's official website.

I’ve been keeping an eye out on Rangers since I’ve moved up here for them and obviously knowing Mark.

“I’ve been following them a lot lately and they’ve been doing very well.”

Hodson follows Jordan Rossiter, Joey Barton, Clint Hill, Matt Crooks, Josh Windass, Niko Kranjcar and Matt Gilks to the Glasgow giants.

He will have liked what he saw from Kiernan and Forrester in their debut seasons last term.

The duo helped Rangers win the Scottish Championship at a canter en route to clinching promotion back to the big time, having been absent since 2012.
