According to the London Evening Standard, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has remained coy on a move for Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette.

The Gunners are expected to be busy in this summer transfer window as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of last season.

Adding a new striker seems to be a priority, with them already seeing a move for Jamie Vardy fall through after he decided to stay with champions Leicester City.

They have been linked with a move for Lacazette as an alternative, with the Telegraph reporting that Arsene Wenger has already been in discussions with the player’s representatives.

However, when asked about a possible move for the Frenchman, Wenger remained non-committal on the possibility.

“I can neither confirm or deny interest [in him]. If I say that I like the player it starts speculation,” he told Canal Sport+, quoted by the London Evening Standard.

It now remains to be sees which striker that Wenger will target following the snub from Vardy.

The big debate around the Leicester City man was that he would not fit into the style that Arsenal adopt, with suggestions that he would struggle as a result.

Wenger clearly thought otherwise though and it will be interesting to see if he goes down a similar route in his next pursuit.
