There were understandably not too many positives from Aston Villa’s campaign in the Premier League last term but perhaps one of the few silver linings for the club faithful to be pleased about was the performances of defender Jordan Amavi.
Amavi joined Villa from Nice at the start of last season and although the Frenchman was reduced to only 12 appearances throughout the course of the campaign due to a serious knee injury, he managed to impress the fans at Villa Park with his fine performances.
Following Villa’s relegation into the Championship, it has been widely reported that Amavi could end up leaving the Midlands based club this summer and according to reports from L’Equipe, claims had been made that Premier League giants Liverpool were considering a £10.8 million swoop for the 22-year-old.
Whether or not Amavi stays put at Villa Park this summer remains to be seen but the defender seems to have only Aston Villa on his mind at the moment, as evidenced by his latest post on social media website Twitter.
Villa fans have certainly been encouraged by Amavi’s tweet and have urged the defender to stay put at the club this summer in response to the post.
