According to CNN Turkey, West Ham United are showing an interest in Besiktas striker Mario Gomez.

The Hammers are keen to add a striker to their squad this summer as they look to build on an impressive first season under Slaven Bilic.

They have been linked to a number of forwards across Europe as a result with Ligue 1 duo Michy Batshuayi and Alexander Lacazette the two names most talked about.

They are thought to have a long list of potential targets though and it appears that Gomez could be on it.

According to CNN Turkey, Bilic has been keeping track of the forward at Euro 2016, where he is currently a part of the Germany squad.

Gomez spent last season on loan with Besiktas, from Fiorentina, scoring 26 goals in 31 games in the Super Lig.

The Turkish side have an agreement in place to buy him, which they are likely to take up given the form he showed last year.

That could make the deal a difficult one for West Ham to get over the line, although the lure of the Premier League could be good bargaining chip.
