It is just a month since talented Liverpool prospect Sergi Canos was linked with a move to Rangers by Independent.

Canos spent last season on loan at Brentford and even made his debut for Klopp's Reds on the last day of the season.

Yet a contract stand off has led to uncertainty over his future. The Liverpool Echo reported amid Rangers' reported interest that Liverpool were looking for £4 million for the former Barcelona academy player.

The 19-year-old's future at Liverpool is no closer to being resolved, and an exit appears increasingly likely.

The Liverpool Echo now report the Reds are instead seeking £2.5 million for Canos, with Championship side Bristol City close to a deal.

This may not give Rangers a lot of time to push through a deal for the Spaniard, but if their interest remains, there is a chance to sign him for less than the price previously speculated.

The teenager is a former teammate of new Rangers signing Jordan Rossiter, and showed his readiness for first team football by scoring seven goals in the Championship last season.

Rangers have been active in the transfer market already, but their business is unlikely to be over as they look to make an immediate impact upon their return to the top flight.
