Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has said he will help Sadio Mane settle in at Anfield, with the Senegal star on the brink completing a move to the Reds from Southampton.

Sakho, who was working as a pundit for Senegalaise TV channel RTS 1 en Direct he was realise he is at a 'wonderful club.

The Frenchman is quoted by the Liverpool Echo live blog, saying: “Mane will learn the beauty of this club… We met a couple of times… Yes, of course (I will help him settle at the club).

"It’s already been four years that I’m with this wonderful club and he will realise it by himself."

Mane completed his move to Anfield today with an official announcement, with the Liverpool Echo reporting he completed his medical on Merseyside yesterday.

He will become the fourth new face to arrive at the club this summer along with Marko Grujic, Joel Matip and Loris Karius ahead of Jurgen Klopp's first full season in charge at the club.

Sakho himself is awaiting the final outcome of a failed doping violation following a Europa League tie with Manchester United back in March. If it goes against him then he could be banned for much of the season at least - affecting the Reds' transfer plans in the process - but there is also the chance he could be available for the start of the season given the lack of clarity on the situation at the present time.

However, one can not underestimate having one or two friendly faces around the squad for a new player when they arrive at the club, so Sakho's presence alone could be a big help for the Reds - along with Nathaniel Clyne who spent a season with Mane at the Saints as well.
