Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli struggled to make an impact for England at Euro 2016.
Alli was selected to start for England against Iceland last night, but the midfielder was well short of his best.
The 20-year-old could not provide the spark to get the Three Lions’ going, as they crashed to a disastrous defeat.
And Redknapp said: "Dele Alli. The midfielder has just had an astonishing season for for Tottenham, but he looked a shadow of himself last night."
England were well short of their best against Iceland, as they fell to one of their most embarrassing defeats ever at an international tournament.
Roy Hodgson’s men had gone in front early on when Wayne Rooney scored, but Iceland fired back and England never regained their composure.
Alli was hardly the only England player to struggle on the night, with his Tottenham teammates Harry Kane and Kyle Walker also putting in dire displays.
Alli played in three of England’s four games at Euro 2016, but he failed to have much of an impact.
Iceland will now go on to face France in the quarter-finals of the tournament, after dumping out Hodgson’s men.
