Inter Milan’s honorary chairman Massimo Moratti wants to see the club sign Dimitri Payet, according to the Mirror.

The Italian giants were this week handed a major investment boost as new Chinese owners took over the club.

China’s Suning Commerce Group have taken charge of the Nerazzurri, handing them a £200 million boost ahead of next season.

A busy transfer window could be on the cards as a result and Marotti wants to see his club lure Payet to Italy after his eye-catching displays at Euro 2016 for France this summer.

He does concede that it would be difficult to convince the Frenchman into a move the San Siro.

“As a fan, I would love to see Payet in an Inter shirt,” the Mirror quotes him saying.

However, the great champions are currently elusive, you have to be lucky enough to find the right opportunity. We are missing 2-3 players to be competitive.”

It would certainly take a big transfer fee to tempt West Ham into even considering selling Payet this summer.

He is the undisputed star of the show at the Olympic Stadium after last season and his performances at Euro 2016 have only helped to prove that.

They would be loathe to lose him at any point as a result, and it would likely take a big chunk of that £200 million for them to part with their man.
