Tottenham Hotspur fans have been impressed by the impact that Michy Batshuayi made after he came off the bench for Belgium yesterday.
Spurs have been linked with Batshuayi throughout the summer transfer window (The Sun), and it seems that his showing at Euro 2016 last night has made supporters of the White Hart Lane club very excited about his potential addition.
Batshuayi came off the bench to make his first appearance at the international tournament, and scored with his first touch.
The Marseille forward prodded home an Eden Hazard cross to help Belgium on their way to a 4-0 victory.
Hazard was the standout performer in the match, but Batshuayi’s cameo certainly enhanced his reputation.
Batshuayi, look forward to seeing him in a Spurs top #coys— Brad Cran... (@BrdMrkCrn) June 26, 2016
Batshuayi competes for a place up-front for Belgium with Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku looks set to continue as Belgium’s first choice for the remainder of the tournament, but Batshuayi’s goal has put the powerful front man under some pressure.
Whether Spurs could complete a deal for Batshuayi remains to be seen, as plenty of other clubs across Europe are also interested.
