Leicester will certainly have to strengthen their squad this summer in order to stand a chance of defending their Premier League title during the upcoming campaign and the Foxes have unsurprisingly been linked with a host of players over the past few weeks.
Now according to reports from Dutch outlet Voetbal 24, claims are being made that the Premier League champions are currently eyeing a swoop for Benfica winger Mehdi Carcela-González.
Carcela-González was used only as an impact player by Benfica last season but he certainly played a big role in the club’s Primeira Liga title triumph last season, providing seven assists as well as three goals in limited playing time.
Due to a lack of regular minutes on the pitch, Carcela-González is believed to be keen on a move away from the Estádio da Luz this summer and Leicester are among the many clubs interested in the 26-year-old.
As a potential boost to Leicester’s chances of signing Carcela-González, Voetbal 24 state that the player will be available for as little as £2.5 million and the low asking price is certainly a big encouragement for the Foxes to make their move in the coming weeks.
