Witsel is keen to move on this summer after four years at Zenit and leave Russia for either Serie A or the Premier League.

Zenit reportedly believe Manchester United are interested and are waiting for a firm approach or offer.

Witsel is currently on duty with Belgium at Euro 2016, where he has impressed early on, netting against Ireland in the group stage.

The 27-year-old is a midfield destroyer who is more specialised in the position than international teammate Marouane Fellaini, and is made for the physical nature of the Premier League.

Zenit quite possibly simply see United as a chance to really strike it rich due to their finances, but Witsel is a talented player who could benefit the Red Devils if Jose Mourinho makes a move.
