Nottingham Forest are still yet to name a permanent replacement for Dougie Freedman.

According to a report in the Nottingham Post, Gary Brazil could be set to take over Nottingham Forest training until the new manager is appointed.

Forest are set to return to pre-season training today, but they still do not have a permanent manager in place.

The Reds have had well over three months to find a new boss, since parting ways with Dougie Freedman, but they are yet to decide on the Scot’s successor.

Forest now realise that they need to make an appointment with haste, and it is expected that a new manager will be in place in the near future.

It is unclear who Forest’s next manager will be, but they have missed out on both Gus Poyet and Victor Sanchez this summer.

The Midlands side have been strongly linked with Ryan Giggs, but some reports have suggested that Fawaz Al Hasawi wants a foreign coach, rather than a British one.

In the meantime, the task of preparing for Forest’s squad for next campaign could fall to Brazil.

Brazil currently works as the academy manager at Forest, and he has previously had experience in the role of caretaker manager at the City Ground back in 2014.
