Everton have made an offer between £5.6 million and £6.4 million for FC Sion defender Leo Lacroix, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Blues are expected to be busy this summer as Ronald Koeman looks to add to the squad he inherited from Roberto Martinez.

The defence may be an area that he looks to improve upon given how poorly that area of the team performed last season.

And that appears to have led to a bid for FC Sion defender Leo Lacroix, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that they have offered as much as £6.4 million for the Swiss defender.

They are not the only side seeking his signature though, with the report also crediting Premier League rivals Stoke City with an interest while AC Milan are also keen.

So far neither of those clubs have made a frim bid for Lacroix though, meaning Everton are currently leading the race for his signature.

It is unknown whether Sion are willing to accept the Blues offer for the 24-year-old at present though.

He will be a recognisable face for some fans on Merseyside, having taken on Liverpool twice in the Europa League last season.
