Leeds United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the club’s interest in signing Michael McGovern in the summer transfer window.

HITC Sport reported at the weekend that Leeds are considering making a move for McGovern.

The 31-year-old is out of contract at Scottish Premiership side Hamilton Academical and is a free agent at the moment.

The former Celtic prospect is looking for a new team at the moment now that Northern Ireland’s 2016 European Championship is over.

McGovern was one of the best players at the Euro 2016 finals in France and was a key figure in Northern Ireland’s progress to the last 16.

The goalkeeper kept one clean sheet in four matches in France, making 3.50 saves per game and 7 saves per goal on average in the process.

According to a recent report in The Scottish Sun, Premier League side Southampton and Championship outfit Rotherham United are interested in signing the former Falkirk goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
