Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has congratulated Nathan Redmond on his move to Southampton yesterday.
Redmond joined the Premier League side in a £10 million deal from Norwich City yesterday.
The winger has penned a five-year deal with the Saints, and Grealish was pleased for his England under-21 teammate.
Redmond was also welcomed to Southampton by defender Matt Targett, who has played with him at youth level.
Redmond is Southampton’s first signing of the summer, as they look to rebuild once again.
The Saints have already lost manager Ronald Koeman and key midfielder Victor Wanyama, while Sadio Mane could be set to join Liverpool.
If Mane does leave, Redmon’s route to Southampton’s first team will look clear, and he could be required to play a regular starting role for the south coast club.
Last season, Redmond made 37 appearances in all competitions for Norwich and scored six goals.
