Nathan Redmond has joined Southampton from Norwich City in the summer transfer window.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan has taken to social networking site Twitter to congratulate Nathan Redmond on his move to Southampton.

Redmond has left Championship side Norwich City to move to Premier League outfit Southampton.

The 22-year-old winger has signed a five-year contract with the Saints, with BBC Sport reporting the transfer fee to be worth £10 million.

Scotland international and Wednesday midfielder Bannan has congratulated Redmond on his move to Southampton, and so has Reading’s Aaron Tshibola.

Southampton Matt Le Tissier has welcomed Redmond to St. Mary’s Stadium and has given his thoughts on the transfer fee.


Redmond scored six goals and created 45 chances in 35 Premier League appearances for Norwich during the 2015-16 season.

The England Under-21 international winger had a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 45%, and won seven headers, 59 dribbles and 25 tackles.

During the 2014-15 season, Redmond scored six goals and created 117 chances in 46 Championship matches for Norwich.

Norwich will be looking to finish in the top two of the Championship next season, while Southampton will be aiming for the top six in the Premier League.
