Quoted by Goal, France manager Didier Deschamps has said that West Ham United star Dimitri Payet is deserving of the praise coming his way right now.

The midfielder was the Hammers' star man last season, as he put in a series of impressive performances in his first year in the Premier League. He has carried that form into Euro 2016, establishing himself as one of the hosts’ key men in the tournament so far.

The praise for his performances has been widespread, with French legend Zinedine Zidane this week sharing his own lofty opinion of the midfielder.

And as far as Deschamps is concerned, his star man is more than deserving of the widespread praise he has been given.

“He has been praised a lot from all quarters, he’s deserved it as well,” Goal quotes him as saying.

“Dimitri is not a young player. He knows what he has done in the past and he knows how he has got to this level. He does not want to give that us easily.”

It remains to be seen if West Ham can keep hold of their star man this summer following his displays in France.

He has allegedly caught the eye of a number of managers and a big money bid from one of the European giants would not be surprising.

He has certainly impressed Real Madrid and Zidane, who may be at the front of what could be a long queue for his services in this transfer window.
