Southampton have confirmed on their official website that they have signed Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond on a five-year contract.

The Saints may not have a manager following Ronald Koeman's move to Everton, but that hasn't stopped them making moves for new signings.

The club today confirmed the signing of Norwich winger Nathan Redmond on a five-year contract, with The Mirror reporting that the fee involved is £11m.

Redmond, 22, hit six goals and three assists for the Canaries last season, but couldn't help keep them in the Premier League as Alex Neil's men dropped into the Championship.

England Under-21 star Redmond won't be playing in the second tier next season though, as he's been handed an instant return to the Premier League with managerless Southampton.

Redmond will add speed to the Southampton side and he could become the latest young English player to develop on the South Coast, especially as his signature is tied into the future of Saints star Sadio Mane.

The Mirror's report claimed that Redmond was being signed as a replacement for Senegal forward Mane, with Liverpool increasingly confident of securing the Southampton star in a deal worth at least £30m.

Saints fans have been reacting to Redmond's signature this afternoon, and many believe that this is a positive signing for the club, as the winger has potential to improve during his time at St. Mary's Stadium.

Fans also discussed Mane's future, suggesting that Liverpool are welcome to make a huge bid for the player after Southampton landed Redmond - but whilst some are excited to see Redmond take Mane's place, others would hate to see the former Red Bull Salzburg man leave this summer.

Do you think Redmond will be Mane's replacement?
