Bielsa worked with Payet at French club Marseille, and Pochettino has disclosed the discussion between the two of them regarding the France international attacking midfielder.
“We did that a lot. He would tell me he was a super talent. Each manager’s objective is to help players progress in all areas.
“That’s what Marcelo did with Payet. He made him better, but firstly he’s a player who’s responsible for his own progress.
“Today, he’s found the good environment to settle. He’s only been in England for a year, but you’d think he’s been there forever.”
Payet joined West Ham from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille in the summer of 2015.
The France international was an instant success in England and took the Premier League by storm.
The 29-year-old attacking midfielder scored nine goals and created 116 chances in 30 league matches for the Hammers last season.
Payet has been playing superbly for France at the ongoing 2016 European Championship so far.
The former Saint-Etienne and Lille attacker has scored two goals and created 14 chances in three matches for the Euro 2016 finals so far.
During the 2014-15 season, Payet scored seven goals and created 134 chances in 36 Ligue 1 matches for Marseille.
The Frenchman has been playing consistently well for the past two seasons, and West Ham fans will hope that he does well during the 2016-17 campaign.
