Leeds United, Barnsley, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bristol City are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United’s Ashley Fletcher in the summer transfer window.

Allan Russell has told The Daily Mail (Transfer news LATEST, 17:05, June 23) that Manchester United striker Ashley Fletcher can become a top player.

Russell, a former striker with St Mirren and Airdrie United, has been working with Fletcher at his Superior Striker training camp.

“Ashley's got a great attitude,” Russell, 35, told The Daily Mail (Transfer news LATEST, 17:05, June 23).

“He comes here of his own accord to see what he can improve and I'd like to think his finish to the season showed how he has benefited. He's got all the attributes, a great touch, technique, size, speed to be a top player.”

The 20-year-old is on the books of United at the moment and is reportedly wanted by a number of Championship clubs.

According to The Sun, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Barnsley and Bristol City are all interested in signing the England Under-20 international this summer.

However, according to the report, Leeds have closed in on the signing of the England Under-20 international.

It has been reported that Fletcher wants as much as £7,000 per week as salary, and that West Yorkshire outfit Leeds are ready to meet his wage demands.
