Liverpool are closing in on the 24-year-old, according to reports.
Sadio Mane celebrates after scoring a goal
Liverpool appear to be closing in on Southampton star Sadio Mane according to various reports, including one from the Liverpool Echo, which suggests a fee close to £30 million could land the Senegal international.
It would signal the fourth player to arrive at the club this summer. Loris Karius has been the only major signing since the end of the season from Mainz but Marko Grujic and Joel Matip are to join the club for the first time when pre-season training gets underway at the start of next month.

However, Jurgen Klopp appears to want to strengthen the side in terms of pace and goalscoring without adding a player that leads the line - and Mane would fit the bill if his first couple of seasons at St Mary's are anything to go by. He saw it first hand in March when he inspired a comeback for Southampton as they overturned a two-goal deficit for Liverpool.
He is the an explosive player capable of winning matches on his own - and holds the record for the fastest Premier League hat-trick.

In his first season at Southampton he scored 10 goals - averaging a goal every three games, and last season he scored 12 goals in all competitions. There aren't many players getting those kind of numbers who aren't operating among the front line.
Some will say he only turns up in certain games, but Liverpool could do with more individuals capable of winning matches with a moment of magic, Mane seems to have that. There may be some frustration that they are paying over the odds to Southampton every summer, and the scouting system needs to be looked at there.
But they would be getting a 24-year-old with bags of talent and his best years ahead of him. It may be a big fee, but it could become irrelevant if he delivers.
