Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes has taken to social networking site Twitter to admit that the 2016-17 Championship season will be hard.

Rangers endured a disappointing 2015-16 campaign and failed to finish in the top 10 of the league table.

The London outfit were playing in the Premier League in 2014-15, and their aim is to get back into the top flight of English football as soon as possible.

QPR will be aiming to finish at least in the Championship playoffs next season, but Fernandes has admitted that it will be hard.

QPR have a decent squad, but they do need a few good signings in order to compete with the best teams in the Championship.

The likes of Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday all will be targeting a top-six spot in the Championship table during the 2015-16 campaign.

The likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Birmingham City and Cardiff City will also be aiming for the playoffs next season.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is a very good manager, and QPR fans should be optimistic about a successful season ahead.
