Steven Pienaar has thanked Everton fans on Twitter, following his departure from Goodison Park.
Pienaar was released from Everton this summer, ending his stay with the Merseyside club.
The South African has already stated that he predicted his exit long before it happened, and he appears to have no hard feelings towards the Toffees after leaving.
Thanks to Everton football club for giving me the opportunity to play in the Premier League and most importantly the supporters. Thanks— Steven Pienaar (@therealstevenpi) June 24, 2016
Thanks COYB and good luck for new season— Steven Pienaar (@therealstevenpi) June 24, 2016
Pienaar is yet to find a new club since departing Everton, but it is believed that he has received offers from South African teams.
Whether the experienced attacking midfielder would be open to move back to his domestic league remains to be seen.
Pienaar had two spells at Everton, and made a total of 229 appearances for the Merseyside club.
Pienaar only made four Premier League appearances for Everton last season, and his importance to the team diminished in recent years.
Pienaar received well wishes from his former teammates Phil Neville and Tim Cahill after announcing his departure on social media.
