West Ham United have given up on the prospect of signing Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that West Ham have given up on the pursuit of the 25-year-old forward because they feel that he is set to join Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the report, the Hammers’ owners feel that the London outfit are being used by Lyon to increase the price of Lacazette. French giants PSG are also claimed to be interested in the France international.

Lacazette scored 21 goals and created 43 chances in 34 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon during the 2015-16 campaign.

The France international forward scored two goals and created six chances in six Champions League matches last season.

Lacazette has been at Lyon his entire professional career so far and has a contract with the Ligue 1 outfit until June 2019, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The Frenchman is a good forward and he would be a good signing for West Ham, but it would be hard for the Premier League side to compete with PSG, who are one of the richest clubs in the world.
