The Frenchman has had a tough start to life on Tyneside.
Florian Thauvin celebrates after scoring the first goal for Newcastle
Lazio have made contact with Newcastle over a move for out-of-favour winger Florian Thauvin, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The report states that the Magpies are demanding between £10-11 million for the Frenchman’s services and it’s unclear whether the Italian club will be willing to meet that price.

Thauvin arrived on Tyneside from Marseille last summer as part of the Newcastle’s considerable summer spend but failed to get going under Steve McLaren.
The 23-year old made just 13 appearances and managed one goal before re-joining the French club - with Marcelo Bielsa at the helm - on loan in January until the end of the season.

A reunion could now be on the cards at the Serie A giants - with Lazio drafting in the Argentinian coach this summer – if an agreement can be reached.
Rafael Benitez has taken the reigns at Newcastle in Thauvin’s absence however, and the Spaniard may want to cast his eye over the pacey winger before sanctioning any move away.
Whether Thauvin fancies a stint in the Championship remains to be seen, but his return to form towards the end of last season suggests he could yet be a useful tool in the Magpies’ promotion push.
