Liverpool are hoping to have a deal for Southampton forward Sadio Mane completed by July 2nd, reports the Daily Mail.

The Reds have been negotiating with the Saints over a move for Mane for several weeks and they are now hoping that the negotiations are heading towards a point where they can agree upon a move.

The South East coast side were initially holding out for £40million for their man but a price of around £30million is looking to be a more likely price for his services.

Klopp was impressed by the Senegal striker’s performance when Southampton beat Liverpool 3-2 at St Mary’s on March 20, a game in which he shone.

The German has identified the player as key to his rebuilding plans at Anfield and is hoping to have the deal concluded before pre-season training begins on July 2, according to the Daily Mail. 

Should he complete a move to Merseyside, he will join a long line of Southampton stars to have made the move up north in recent seasons.

Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert have all moved to Liverpool in the last two summers and it seems Mane will is set to join that list.
