According to a report in the Daily Express, Celtic are aiming to tie Kieran Tierney down to a new five-year contract.

Tierney penned a new deal last season, and he still has three years remaining on his current contract.

However, the youngster has impressed so much that Brendan Rodgers already wants to hand him a new deal.

Celtic realise that they face a fight to keep hold of their prized prospect, with Liverpool and Southampton amongst the sides interested.

The Scotland international full back was one of Celtic’s most consistent performers last term, and he won the club’s Young Player of the Season award.

Tierney made 34 appearances in all competition for the Bhoys last term, and he is expected to have an even more important role to play next season - if he stays with the Glasgow side.
